More desirable circumstances: “Being single is not something I actively sought out. It’s not a state that brings me joy,” she expressed during a conversation with the Sunday Telegraph, as shown in a photo from 2015.

As a precautionary step, she had her ovaries extracted back in 2015. However, the previous year was another high tide for the superstar as she encountered Bell’s Palsy along with hypertension. This year has been arduous for her both emotionally and physically, owing to some other health issues. She shared that it’s essential to keep a check on her health, and despite feeling the toll on her body, she tries to find joy in laughter. She believes that even during chemotherapy, one needs to find the strength to love and laugh.

Health scares: In 2013, she underwent a preventive double mastectomy after it was revealed she carried the BRCA1 gene, which gave her an estimated 87 per cent risk of breast cancer and 50 per cent of ovarian cancer

Health concerns were a major issue for her in 2013 when she opted for a preventive double mastectomy. This decision was brought about by the discovery that she carried the BRCA1 gene, which significantly increased her chances of developing breast and ovarian cancer by an estimated 87% and 50% respectively.

It is uncertain if she referenced undergoing chemotherapy or not. She is currently in Los Angeles promoting her new Netflix film, First They Killed My Father, which is based on Loung Ung’s memoir about the Khmer Rouge genocide in Cambodia. The actress reflects on her life, stating that ten years ago she never would have imagined being where she is now with regards to her family, marriage, and career. However, at this point in her life, she values her health above all else. In the midst of navigating her relationship with Brad, the star has taken on a new project, Maleficent 2, and promises it will be a strong sequel. Disney has recently hired Jez Butterworth, co-writer of Spectre, to work on the screenplay for the film.
