Katy Perry was interviewed by David Curcurito for Esquire on a rainy day in Larchmont, California. She arrived in a silver Audi A6 wearing a black-and-white headband with a bow, Wayfarers, and a T-shirt with Mickey and Minnie Mouse holding hands from behind, along with pencil-thin black pants with zippers all over them. Despite her unique style, it’s hard to get a sense of her body as she seems to hide it. However, her beautiful blue eyes are impossible to miss.
During the interview, Katy Perry discusses her quirky style and how it’s all about innuendo. She wants everyone to get the joke but also think about it for a minute. She mentions her stylist, who has the same level of ridiculous dreams as she does, such as wanting to suspend from the ceiling in a twirling banana.
The interviewer notes that Katy Perry’s go-to chords are G, A minor, F, and C, and she confirms that she loves acoustic guitars, particularly Martin and Taylor brands. She also reveals that her influences include classic No Doubt, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Chrissie Hynde, and Freddie Mercury.
Regarding her personal life, Katy Perry admits to having a soft spot for musicians but doesn’t feel like she has the right energy to be with someone at the moment. She also discusses her conservative parents, who surprisingly support her wild-child persona. At 24 years old, Perry is looking to grow up a little bit and not always play the innocent Lolita sex kitten, but rather, someone who wrote the joke herself and wants people to tag along for the ride.
