She has gradually lightened up her locks in recent months in a bid to achieve a flaxen look, but it seems Katy Perry has temporarily abandoned her blonde ambition.
The 26-year-old unveiled very bold new colour as she stopped in at a gas station with her husband Russell Brand in Los Angeles yesterday.
Perhaps taking inspiration from her Teenage Dream cover, she has dyed her hair a cotton candy pink.

She teamed her bright mane with a summery green maxi dress, aviator sunglᴀsses and flip flops.
Katy, who has rarely been spotted with her comedian husband in recent months, is on a brief break from promoting her new film, The Smurfs.
The film, which sees her voice the character Smurfette, made $36.2 million on opening week at the U.S. box office.

It was tied for first place with Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford’s science-fiction Western Cowboys & Aliens.
Katy, who recently denied her marriage is on the rocks, attended the New York premiere alone on July 24.
Her hair was a strawberry blonde after spending weeks trying to transition to a lighter look.
Katy, who is a natural blonde, has spent years maintaining her hair as a dark brunette, even dyeing her eyebrows and eyelashes to match.

However, after deciding she wanted to change her dark hair to a lighter blonde shade, Katy was told by hairdressers the process would have to be done in two stage.
But she hasn’t exactly been thrilled with her various looks.
She wrote last month: ‘So I didn’t get to the exact color (sic) I wanted from being black for so long! 2get to goal I have 2b GINGER for 3WKS.
‘If I don’t wait 3wks, I’ll end up w/no hair or a #pixie90scutw/abarretteinthefront It’s okay, I’ll get to my secret color(s) soon! #patience.’
