In Judd Apatow’s new movie, This Is Forty, Megan Fox embodies youthful perfection.
The 26-year-old beauty plays Desi, one of Leslie Mann’s character Debbie’s employees, in this tale of growing up (and old) with kids and responsibilities.
We first met Debbie and her husband Pete, played by Paul Rudd, in Apatow’s smash hit, Knocked Up in 2007… and this film follows their twin midlife crises.
Also starring are Chris O’Dowd, Jason Segel, Charlyne Yi, John Lithgow, Lena Dunham and Albert Brooks as Rudd’s loser father.
Also putting in an appearance here is Melissa McCarthy’s suburban mother, who hilariously complains that Rudd and Mann’s daughter ‘told my son he looked like Tom Petty – in a negative way.’
Apatow’s wife, actress Leslie Mann, who plays Debbie, recently said that the Jennifer’s Body star is ‘hilarious’ in her role.
‘Megan Fox is so funny,’ she said recently. ‘She’s hilarious. You wouldn’t, I don’t know if other people [expect it], but I think she’s really funny. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.’
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Apatow explained the meaning of the film saying, ‘It’s about getting older,’ adding, ‘what the hell happened? “Am I making all the right choices? Is this where I’m supposed to be? Is this it?” All of those dreams that you had when you were young, all of the possibilities, when you lock into marriage and kids, do the possibilities dwindle or go away?’
Of course, Megan herself is ironically enough, locked into marriage and kids herself.
Married to Wedding Band star Brian Austin Green; the coupled welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Noah, on September 27.
Announcing the birth on Facebook, Megan admitted she and Brian were grateful for having a ‘peaceful few weeks’ with their son before telling the world of his arrival.
She wrote: ‘We have been very lucky to have had a peaceful few weeks at home, but I would like to release this myself before others do.
‘I gave birth to our son Noah Shannon Green on September 27th. He is healthy, happy, and perfect.
‘We are humbled to have the opportunity to call ourselves the parents of this beautiful soul and I am forever grateful to God for allowing me to know this kind of boundless, immaculate love.
‘Thanks to those of you who wish to send your positive energy and well wishes.
‘May God bless you and your families abundantly.’
While Noah is Megan’s first child, Brian has a 10-year-old son Kᴀssius from a previous relationship.
This Is 40 is set to hit theatres on December 21.
